A consistent highlevel of achievement as an Interactive Media / Video Production professional within agency, corporate, and small business environments and an instrumental collaborator towards creative problem solving. My over 19 year career has led me into progressively more responsible positions, developing a diverse and extensive technical background, allowed me to demonstrate exceptional organizational capabilities, and provided opportunities in both artistic design and technical support for a multitude of creative environments. I have diverse experience in facilitating the integration of evolving multimedia, computer and video developments with traditional communications technologies as well as extensive technical capabilities as they relate to the New Media industry.

These 4 individual companies have been formed to provide differing specialties within the arena of Pharmaceutical and Medical care. AdvancMed’s focus is within the arena of Continuing Medical Education; Symbiotix within Pharmaceutical and Medical Marketing, while Symbiotix Management Strategies is focused on Association Management. 5ifth Element is the diverse evolution of graphics & multimedia individuals that have provided services to each of these organizations individually. We are located in Lexington, Kentucky and currently employ approximately 35 people.

Technical Management

  • Responsible for the selection of technical service vendors/contractors as related to the multimedia production arena, generating the necessary support infrastructure and facilitating any new account generation.
  • Analyzes the needs of the creative team and establishes priorities for systems design, procurement and implementation to develop new and/or modify the company's information processing systems.
  • Development of maintenance schedules for all live sites, site deployments, site backups, and managing any technical hosting changes or modifications.
  • Management of the Creative Services File Server and implementation of the core Asset Management Solution located within.
  • General IT support of and recording of our hardware and software assets, serial numbers and service plans.
  • Establish, plan, and administer the overall policies and goals for the information technology department.
  • Implementation and analysis of web analytical statistics for both in-house and external client projects.
  • Involvement in the creation of the department’s capitol expenses & yearly budgets.

Interactive Development

  • Develop, create, and implement content for allinteractive marketing/educational materials working closely with the Creative Director and Business Development Manager.
  • Development of initial website prototypes, as well as their respective functional diagrams, definition of project scope, defining the technical / hosting requirements, and creation of the proposed database schema.
  • Design and development of all current and proposed website projects; developing site content and graphics in coordination with our Creative Director and establishing timelines defined by department heads.
  • Contribute technical design knowledge to initial design concepts through the implementation of the approved design concepts, working closely with other designers.
  • Knowledge and utilization of a multitude of interactive programming languages; ie. Actionscript, Lingo, XML, PHP and JavaScript.
  • Video editing, DVD production and technical support towards new production initiatives incorporating audio/video needs.

Gulfstream Aerospace, a General Dynamics Company, is the leader in corporate aviation. The Gulfstream product line offers an exceptional combination of price, performance and value-added customer preferences in each segment of the mid-cabin to ultra-large-cabin business-jet market. Their corporate headquarters is located in Savannah, Georgia and during my time there employed approximately 4500 people.

Technical Management

  • Management of interactive projects from concept through completion, in cooperation with the Creative Director's vision and guidelines.
  • Workflow / process optimization through SOPs (standard operating procedures) for greater efficiencies within the multimedia arena and integration with the company's core methodologies.
  • Integral in the direction and development of advanced technologies in marketing, including advances in high definition video, asset management solutions and process workflow management.
  • Responsible for the development of departmental budgets and ordering of hardware and software solutions.
  • Technical support of all Macintosh based hardware and software for Gulfstream Marketing department.

Interactive Development

  • One of the 3 core developers of Gulfstream’s corporate website.
  • Video production / editing using Final Cut Pro with deployment in BetaSP, DVD and Web.
  • Advanced Macromedia Flash ActionScript development.
  • Advanced production skills within the Adobe and Macromedia product lines.
  • Extensive video skills utilizing encoding and streaming codecs.

Founded in 1973, Biggs|Gilmore is a hybrid agency with a core expertise in integration of offline and online marketing strategies. Biggs|Gilmore delivers award-winning results for Fortune 1000 clients via integrated branding, advertising and e-business solutions. Located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, they employed approximately 75 people.

Interactive Development

  • Project Lead for Baja Marine, producing both interactive web and cd-rom based deliverables.
  • Secondary production for SeaRay Marine, producing both interactive web and cd-rom based deliverables.
  • Secondary production for Bronson Hospital, producing both interactive web and information on-site kiosks.
  • Awarded First Place in the Southwest Michigan ADDY awards for work with Baja Marine, 2000 and 2001.

The Marketing Store is one of the world’s largest, privately held integrated marketing communications companies. Being privately held means we’re accountable to our clients and ourselves (and not public shareholders). It’s hard to be creative when you have to worry about analyst's quarterly reports. Acquired by The HAVI Group in 1998, the company has over 800 employees in 12 offices on five continents.

  • Created and maintained a FileMaker database to track the departments software and hardware assets.
  • Managed and supported the Production and Video workstation hardware and software.
  • Video editor using Media 100 with deployment in BetaSP, VHS and Quicktime for the web.
